Bio: Hello all! I am Shakylia Jones and I am a current sophomore at Old Dominion University! While at ODU, I serve as the Director of Political Action in the Political Science Association while also representing ODU’s VGS club as Vice President. I am running for the position of Lieutenant Governor. 

Statement: I want to run for this position because I care deeply about the people of our state, who speak up for what they deserve. I also care deeply about the delegates and senators that work tirelessly to ensure function in our society. Leadership is not a one person job, it is a job that requires someone who will take initiative and help those working around them. I believe in the power of connection that I work to use with all of you. I don’t want to be a commander; I want to be a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear. Please let me be that for you and vote me for Lieutenant Governor.
