Institution: Old Dominion University

Candidacy: House Minority Leader

Bio: I am a current junior at ODU, I am a double major in Political Science and Psychology. I am the current Vice President for the Men’s Club Soccer team and the Odu VGS Co-president.

Statement: I am running for Minority Leader because I want to make an impact on VGS. In the last simulation, many people were forced to play in the minority party, and they didn’t feel included. I want to change that because last year some people did it great and learned about the other side of the aisle and that is what this simulation is about. Getting people to be more civically engaged and that is what I will strive for as Minority Leader In the last simulation, I was in the majority party. But, this year, I wanted to try the other side of the aisle and gain more experience. What I can bring to the minority party is experience in politics. This past summer, I interned with Congressman Ben Cline in D.C. I experienced politics at its core. I analyzed and presented legislation to the office and ensured political communication through multiple groups. Another skill I will bring to the Caucus That is how I will help the party succeed during the simulation.
